The pace continues at warp speed. I have students who are going to 4 consecutive weddings this June. Others are trying to figure out how to get to two graduations on the same morning in different states. Several are searching for jobs, six are selling/buying houses and three will start work in Boston, rather than Wenham, this morning as their company moves to town. Another handful of yoginis are negotiating care for their aging and ailing parents. A lovely yogini plans a wedding. The rest of us are running to dual lacrosse and baseball practices (and doesn’t hockey start in the summer this year?????) And a whole slew of folks are taking a deep breath as kids get home from school and the short, sweet frenzy of summer begins. What ARE we going to do with the little darlings for the next 12 weeks?
This is what the Buddha means by suffering being optional. We can run around like crazy or we can get on our mat, soothe body, mind and spirit and work our yayas out in practice, rather than on those we love.
Willa and I have a summer full of good yoga in store for all of you. See you on the mat!
